2026 Program List
Poverty Intervention & Prevention:
Day Shelter: Monday – Thursday | 9 am – 3:30 pm
- Breakfast at 9 am with coffee, pastries, and sandwiches.
- Lunch at 12 pm.
- Space to connect with others, use the phone, and access free WiFi on-site.
- Assistance available at the front desk to connect with resources for your needs.
Mission Market: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday | 1 pm – 1:45 pm
- Food pantry access for Fayette County residents.
- Bring an ID and/or a piece of mail to verify residency.
- Shop once a month for canned vegetables, fruits, soups, meats, and other nonperishable items.
- Donations include frozen meat, bakery items, bread, and fresh produce from local grocery stores and farmers.
- Must check in by 1:45 pm to be served.
Clothing Closet: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday | 10:00-11:00 am & 1:00-1:45 pm
- New and gently used men’s and women’s clothing available.
- Clients can choose 3 items daily.
- Check mail, get a toiletry bag, or other seasonal items.
God’s Pantry – Senior Commodities: 4th Thursday of the month | 10:00 – 11:00 am
- Monthly CSFP box distribution for Fayette residents aged 60+ with an income of $1,580 or less per month.
- Includes cereal, juice, milk, cheese, canned meat, beans/peanut butter, rice/pasta, canned vegetables, and fruit.
Community Resource Program:
- Walk-in hours available to connect with the Poverty Intervention & Prevention Coordinator.
- Assistance with basic needs, apartment hunting, job searches, and advocacy.
Educational Programs:
Monthly Lunch & Learn: Life Skills and Health & Wellness
- Held on the second Thursday of the month.
- Topics include finance, budgeting, banking, home energy, and housing rights/issues.
- Workshops led by community partners such as Thrivent Finance, Bluegrass Green Source, Lexington-Fayette Urban County Human Rights Commission, and Lexington-Fayette County Health Department.
Financial Wellness Class
- Provided in partnership with REACH.
- Covers living within means, creating spending plans, saving tips, and debt management strategies.
- Limited to 12 participants.
- Incentives: $5 per class attended, $20 bonus check for attending all 4 classes and showing proof of a savings account with $20.
- Sign up onsite.
- Fall classes offered.
Health & Wellness:
Vision Clinic
- Free eye exams and vouchers for basic glasses (cost varies from free to $20).
- Schedule an appointment by calling 859-255-0062 or filling out this Google Form.
Podiatry Clinic: 4th Tuesday of the month
- Assistance for painful foot issues such as ingrown toenails, bunions, cracked/bleeding heels, thick calluses, or foot swelling.
- Schedule an appointment by calling 859-255-0062 or filling out this Google Form.
Children & Youth Development:
Esperanza Club – Elementary After-School Program for CVES
- For 1st-5th grade students.
- Provides healthy snacks, physical activity, spiritual development, and academic support.
- Located at Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Cardinal Valley.
- Runs Monday – Thursday until 5:00 pm.
- Children ride the bus to the church.
Summer Camp
- 4-week program at Calvary Church of the Nazarene.
- For students who have completed K-5th grade.
- Runs Monday – Thursday | 1:00-4:00 pm.
